A Diesel Mechanic Technician III is tasked with diagnosing and completing advanced repairs for any company owned vehicles while honoring Lux Bus America’s approach to business that starts with our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service. This includes all
aspects of vehicle inspections, diagnostics, disassembly, repair/rebuild/replace/reprogram, reassembly, and completing accompanying documentation.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
· Preventative maintenance and repairs such as:
Disassembly, reassembly, adjustments, parts removal and replacement, internal or external repairs, complete oil changes, replacement of filters, belts, and hoses, etc.
· Various vehicle systems pre-repair, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks such as:
Diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic brakes, suspension and steering, electrical systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), vehicle interiors, wheels and tires, sewage waste collection
· Ongoing learning and development related to all pre-repair, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks for vehicle systems
· Electrical work inclusive of charging and startup, diagnostics, and repair
· Brake system diagnostic and repair, including full removal and replacement of hydraulic brake systems components
· Review assignments and schedules with lead shop personnel, and ensure all information is fully understood prior to completing assignments
· Provide feedback to Shop Foreman to help improve service response
· Perform duties and functions to help streamline the daily business operations of the company

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or equivalent
· Technical degree in diesel and industrial technology (or similar focus)
If no degree, 5 years’ experience in a diesel/bus repair and maintenance environment
· Valid California driver’s license
· Able to obtain Class B CDL
· Forklift certified to operate a sit-down forklift and scissor lift, or able to obtain

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

· Valid California driver’s license
· Able to obtain Class B CDL
· Forklift certified to operate a sit-down forklift and scissor lift, or able to obtain
· MACS (Mobile Air Conditioning Society) Section 609 certification

Other Qualifications

· Reads and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
· Team member must be at least 25 years of age to satisfy insurance requirements
· Clean DMV H6 Record (less than 30 days old)
  o No DUIs within last seven years
  o No more than one DMV point or moving violation within the last 3 years
  o No more than one preventable accident in the previous 12 months and no more than two preventable accidents in the previous 36 months
  o No more than one major preventable accident within the previous 36 months
· Current medical card for CDL holders
· Pass a physical exam
· Safety-Sensitive Position
  o The duties of this position are so fraught with hazard that any attempt to perform them while in a state of alcohol or drug impairment would pose a threat to coworkers, to the workplace, or to the public at large. Accordingly, this position is deemed a safety-sensitive position. As a result, we require team members operating in this position to submit to random drug-testing throughout the course of employment. Moreover, the Company will take appropriate action for refusing to take or failing such test
· Pass a background check
  o This position is designated as requiring a background check due to the nature of the job responsibilities. The Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the background check
· Furnishes rolling tool box and cart with tool kit including:
  o 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2" standard/shallow/deep drive socket sets, 3/8”-1 1/4" standard and 6mm-26mm metric combination wrench sets, adjustable wrenches, Allen wrench sets, torque wrench set, pipe wrench, pliers, vise grips, files, screwdrivers, ball peen and rubber/plastic hammers, punch and chisel set, digital multimeter, lights, cordless drill/impact driver, drill bit set, extractor set, etc.
· Utilizing equipment such as:
  o Tire balancer, tire dismantler (passenger tire and bus tire), coolant extractor, transmission flusher, battery tester, vehicles lifts, etc.
