Schedule:

Monday- Friday
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Rate:

Salary up to $150,000 yearly depending on experience.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

The Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of Lux Bus America’s services in Northern California. The key objectives are to maximize efficiencies, improve service levels, while focusing on staff development, and the establishment of process and procedure. The individual selected will operate from our San Jose, California office.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

  • Lead all teams that report up to Director of Operations with a proactive, consistent, assertive yet reassuring style. These teams may include 1) Operations/Dispatch, 2) Fleet & Logistics Management, 3) Maintenance & Inventory, 4) Facilities Management, and 5) Driver Safety, Certification & Training.
  • Train managers and have a succession plan for all key roles that is transparent and fruitful.
  • Take initiative and make recommendations to VP Northern California for process improvements.
  • Create and manage plans to ensure business is supported and improved (staffing, productivity, accuracy, etc.).
  • Manage department personnel including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and correcting employee conduct.
  • Ability to comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT), governmental regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Solid understanding of Federal and State wage and hour laws, preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management or director capacity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience managing a staff of 10 or more, with an additional 50 or more employees in a multi-shift / multi-site environment.
  • Experience in the transportation / hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
  • Regular travel to the site of existing and potential clients, and elsewhere in connection with managing Company’s operations.
