The Charter Dispatcher is tasked with acting as a communication point of contact for the drivers and Operations while honoring Lux Bus America’s approach to business that starts with our
commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:
* Check-in drivers, discuss daily route assignments, and answer questions
* Monitor the route and status of drivers by tracking their time, route check-ins, re-routing, and finish time, etc.
* Monitor and communicate with drivers using tools like online GPS programs and cellular communication in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) for the purpose of gathering and/or conveying information
* Document activities on a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and/or records
* Comply with all applicable government regulations, policies, and standards, as well as all Company administrative policies, procedures, and safety rules when planning, assigning, directing work, and supervising and training drivers
* Collaborate and communicate with client’s internal departments and other vendors to ensure driver gaps, late pickups, late departures, and other incidents are relayed to all parties
* Interact with clients in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
* Provide drivers with initial support during accidents and engage manager as needed
* Verify that drivers complete the following documents and report to management noncompliance:
*  Driver logs are accurate and submitted daily
*  DVIRs are complete and signed off when maintenance issues are addressed
*  Bus check-out sheets are noted for new damage with proper investigation ensuing
* Work Order is complete with all times, mileages, passenger counts, and signatures
* Assist with passenger count data entry
* Check that company vehicles are clean, orderly, and well maintained before departing and coordinate special requests with the Maintenance and Facilities departments
* Contribute alongside other supervisors, managers and staff to formulate goals and objectives
* Perform duties and functions to help streamline the daily business operations of the company
* Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing additional tasks and assignments as needed

Education / Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 1-year experience dispatching in transportation industry

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
* Valid Class C driver’s license required

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents in English. Ability to write in English routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Mathematical Skills
Demonstrates strong general math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing  whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Performs these operations with units of American
currency, Regular and Military time, and Imperial measurements of weight, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the following software applications, and proficiency as indicated below.

Software:
* Microsoft Windows 7 or newer, or Apple OS 10.XX or newer
* Microsoft Office 2007 or Newer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)
* iPhone or Android cellular phone and tablet PCs
* GPS (Samsara, Saucon, Nomad, etc.)
* Route management (DoubleMap, Nomad, etc.)
* Ridership tracking (TripShot, TapRide, etc.)
* 2-way radio (Sonim, etc.)
* VMS

Proficiency:
* Spreadsheet formatting (add rows/columns, borders, fill color, etc.)
* Spreadsheet formulas (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.)

Other Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
* Clean DMV H6 Record (less than 30 days old)
*  No DUIs within last seven years
*  No more than one DMV point or moving violation within the last 3 years
*  No more than one preventable accident in the previous 12 months and no more than two preventable accidents in the previous 36 months
*  No more than one major preventable accident within the previous 36 months
* Pass a background check as required by Lux Bus America
*  This position is designated as requiring a background check due to the nature of the job responsibilities. The Company will consider for employment qualified
applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the background check
* Driving Requirements
*  A valid driver's license and DMV check for driving record is required
