Job Description

The Operations Assistant is tasked with providing operational administrative support for Sacramento operations within their assigned position while honoring Lux Bus America’s approach to business that starts with our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service. 


Although additional duties and related tasks may be assigned, the essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:  

?  Manage daily collection of all driver paperwork
?  Verify drivers satisfactorily complete required documents, such as:
o Driver logs, DVIRs, bus check-out sheets, Work Orders
?  Organize driver paperwork for daily and end of month transport to main office
?  Data entry of driver paperwork into online tracking system
?  Identify driver paperwork noncompliance, complete remedial training (or schedule with Safety & Training as appropriate), and report re-occurring incidents to management 
?  Daily status checks for driver compliance documents (driver’s licenses, medical certificates, pull notices, random drug tests, etc.), and coordination with drivers to satisfy requirements
?  Aids in creation and modification of new hire, and existing driver training materials and documentation
?  Actively prepare for, and participate in, annual CHP Terminal inspection
?  Assist in relaying vehicle maintenance needs from drivers to Maintenance or vendors
?  Assist Payroll Administrator with validating meal and break violations, notifying drivers of corrections, assists in data entry into payroll system, and distributes paychecks
?  Document activities on a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and/or records 
?  Contribute alongside other supervisors, managers and staff to formulate goals and objectives
?  Perform duties and functions to help streamline daily business operations of the Company
?  Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing additional tasks and assignments as needed


In light of the nature of the transportation industry, the Company does not maintain regular business hours. This position will have a set schedule based on the needs of the manager and operational needs. It will be a Monday-Friday position, most often beginning as early as 8:00 AM and ending as late as 5:00 PM. Flexibility with the work schedule, and the ability to work outside regular hours, is required.

Education / Experience

?  High school diploma or equivalent 
?  Minimum 2 years’ experience providing administrative support or DOT compliance

Computer Skills      
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of the following software applications, and proficiency as indicated below.

?  Spreadsheet formatting (add rows/columns, borders, fill color, etc.)
?  Spreadsheet formulas (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.)

Other Qualifications                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

?    Pass a background check.
